Mr. Pascal G. Dozie C.O.N.

Pascal G. Dozie is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Pan-Atlantic University. He was also a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Lagos Business School.

In addition, Mr. Dozie is currently the Chairman of MTN Nigeria and Kunoch Limited. He is the founder and former Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank PLC and founding partner of Africa Capital Alliance – the first Nigerian private equity fund manager.

Mr. Dozie has been a key contributor to the development of the Nigerian economy, both in the government and the private sector. A former Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria and President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, he served as the founding chairman of The Nigerian Economic Summit Group. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the co-Chair of the Commonwealth Business Council – an organisation whose mandate is to involve the private sector in the promotion of trade and investment within the fifty-four Commonwealth countries. He also serves as the Co-Chairman of the Nigeria Business Coalition Against HIV/AIDS.

In recognition of his contributions to the development of the Nigerian economy, Mr. Dozie has received several awards from government authorities and organized institutions. In 2000, Mr. Dozie was honoured with a national award of the Order of the Niger (OON) and in 2011 with the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) respectively by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mr. Dozie combines extensive money and capital market experience with an in-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry. An accomplished intellectual who has to his credit several published works; Perspectives on Nigeria’s Economic Development (1999);Review of Nigeria’s Past Development Plans and Results Since independence. (1985); A Simplified Economic Tableau of Uganda (1970); Industrial Cost Stabilization (1970); Estimated Employment and Population, Greater London (1970) and Correlation of Share Indices and its Application to Portfolio programming (1968).

Mr. Dozie holds an M.Sc. in Business Administration from the City University, London and a B.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics.
