The founders of Pan-Atlantic University were inspired in beginning this educational project by the teachings of St Josemaria Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei.

The University changes its name from Pan-African University to Pan-Atlantic University. The acronym “PAU” is retained.

Undergraduate programmes begin at the University’s main campus in Ibeju-Lekki. The first programmes were 4-year B.Sc. programmes in accounting, business administration and media & communication Infrastructural development completed at the Main Campus Building in Victoria Island closed down
