Prelate of Opus Dei Visits PAU’s Main Campus

Monsignor Fernando Ocariz, Prelate of Opus Dei, today visited the main campus of the Pan-Atlantic University. He is in Nigeria for a week long pastoral visit from the 19th – 26th of July. During the visit to PAU, he met with members of the management of Pan-Atlantic University.

Prior to that, he had blessed a new grotto of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on campus. He also visited the centre of extracurricular activities for men (Eleko Study Centre) as well as the construction site of the centre for women. In between the various stops, he chatted briefly with staff and students of the University many of whom were excited to welcome him to the campus.

The founders of Pan-Atlantic University were inspired in beginning this educational project by the teachings of St Josemaria Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. In addition, the Prelature of Opus Dei provides the spiritual and pastoral means necessary for the University to sustain and develop its Christian identity. The Prelature of Opus Dei takes responsibility for guaranteeing that all teaching, publishing and research activities in PAU are inspired by the Christian view of the person, the world and society, and seeks a coherent union between faith, thought and life.
