GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR

The role requires a person who can provide expert advice and helpful resources to students regarding certain personal and academic situations. Their main duties will include providing counselling to students to help develop their personal, academic, social, spiritual, and all-round skills as well as providing guidance to the students.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
❖ Oversee the university’s Guidance & Counselling unit and follow a guidance program to allow students to voice concerns, problems, and other issues.
❖ Provides personal and social growth counselling which includes individual counselling relating to academic success, understanding of self and others, communication skills, decision-making, relationship skills, conflict resolution and goal setting.
❖ Liaise/consult with staff and faculty regarding student issues and the resulting impact on academic functioning, integration or re-integration into the university system.
❖ Get to know students and their unique needs to offer specialized care; recognize and appropriately take care of individual students’ socio-emotional challenges.
❖ Provides crisis intervention services, e.g., suicide prevention, child abuse, health concerns, substance abuse and follow-up services as appropriate.
❖ Provide assessment, mental health screening, diagnosis, and recommendations for treatment; assist with mental health-related school programmes and events.

❖ Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
❖ Affiliation with a Professional body.
❖ Average IT skills.

❖ Good collaboration skills.
❖ Remarkable professionalism and good work ethics.
❖ Experience in social, emotional, and behavioural management techniques.
❖ Experience with students who present with behavioural difficulties or developmental challenges.
❖ Personality should project enthusiasm, professionalism and a high level of credibility.
❖ Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanour in the face of competing demands and external
pressures.
❖ Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues and
community members.
❖ A minimum of five years of counselling or related work experience with young adults in an academic/learning environment

LICENSE TO PRACTICE
Full current license to practice and registration with the appropriate state and national licensing boards for the profession.

MAINTENANCE OFFICER (HVAC)

The maintenance officer (HVAC) will be responsible for Identifying maintenance risks on equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems as well as adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services. The successful applicant would also be performing emergency repairs promptly, efficiently, and as at when needed.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
❖ Managing workflow within the unit.
❖ Providing technical direction and on-the-job training for new hires.
❖ Creating and managing team schedules.
❖ Evaluating performance and providing feedback.
❖ Identifying and applying career advancement opportunities.
❖ Reporting to the Chief Maintenance Officer.
❖ Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.

B.Sc./Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Production Engineering.

❖ Experience in HVAC/Electrical control system will be an advantage.
❖ Good written & verbal communication skills are required.
❖ Good knowledge of Office 365.
❖ Knowledge of Microsoft Visio or any CAD application will also be an advantage.
❖ Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
❖ Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
❖ Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
❖ Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
❖ Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The maintenance technician will be responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility.
equipment such as pumps, compressors, chillers, air-conditioners as well as property structures of the university.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
❖ Execute maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor or maintenance manager.
❖ Follow maintenance schedules as outlined.
❖ Inspect and verify status of assets including, Sewage and water pumps, air blowers, Power generating plants, Medium Voltage distribution equipment, water and sewage plants, HVAC.
❖ Carry out repairs and adjustments as needed.
❖ Troubleshoot by consulting blueprints, operational manual, and other sources as necessary.
❖ Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
❖ Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
❖ Respond to the University’s maintenance emergency needs.

OND or Technical College certificate or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical engineering

❖ 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
❖ Good written and verbal communication skills
❖ Manual dexterity and attention to detail
❖ Must be well- organized and can prioritize tasks.
❖ Experience in repair of Pumps, compressors and blowers and HVAC equipment is required.
❖ Experience in plumbing and pipe fitting will be an added advantage.
❖ The personnel should be ready to work on shift, including night shift.

COURSE COORDINATOR

School of Media and Communication

The personnel will serve as a central point of contact between students, faculty, staff, other departments, and/or external constituencies on a day-to-day basis.

❖ Request for the names of admitted undergraduate students from the Admission Office.
❖ Receive names of admitted students 2 weeks before resumption.
❖ Ensure that the classrooms and equipment are all in order and ready for use for all classes.
❖ Prepare and print table tags for the students.
❖ Prepare the orientation timetable for students.
❖ Send students’ class timetables and academic calendars to the admitted students before the orientation date for students.
❖ Send lecture timetable and school calendar to facilitators teaching in the semester for all classes.
❖ Pass attendance sheet during classes for all classes and input them weekly.
❖ Other duties as assigned.

BSc /BA in Business Administration, Communication, or a related field

❖ At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
❖ Good written and verbal communication skills
❖ Manual dexterity and attention to detail
❖ Must be well-organized and can prioritize tasks.
❖ Must possess great interpersonal skills.
