Celebrating the Mass of the Holy Spirit

Yesterday, we gathered as a university community to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit, officially ushering in a new academic season. This cherished tradition serves as a reminder of our commitment to learning and growth, guided by the wisdom and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
As we embark on this journey together, may we embrace new challenges and opportunities with open hearts and minds. Here’s to a year filled with knowledge, collaboration, and spiritual enrichment

In his address the university chaplain, Fr Ifeanyi Ogboh, emphasised the importance of honouring others more than ourselves. This involves a twofold commitment:

  1. Acknowledging the Superiority of Others: Recognizing that, in various aspects of life, others possess unique talents and abilities that surpass our own. This humility fosters a spirit of respect and appreciation for diverse perspectives and experiences.
  2. Serving Others: Actively seeking opportunities to uplift and empower others, particularly those in positions of leadership. By serving our fellow community members, we contribute to their growth and development, ultimately enriching the entire academic environment.

As we navigate the academic year, let us strive to embody these principles and create a community characterized by compassion, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.
