Unveiling of Felix Ohiwerei School of Science and Technology Academic Complex

The Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) and the Nigerian Breweries/Felix Ohiwerei Educational Trust Fund are delighted to announce that its School of Science and Technology will be formally unveiled as the Felix Ohiwerei School of Science and Technology on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the University complex, Km 52, Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos.

This special honour is in recognition of the contributions of Elder Felix Ohiwerei, a respected and well-known Nigerian boardroom guru, who was the former Chairman/CEO of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Unilever Plc, Fidson Pharmaceuticals, Jubilee Mortgage Bank and is currently the Chairman Jubilee Mortgage Bank and ARM.

Completed in 2020, the School of Science and Technology (SST) is the latest addition to the Pan-Atlantic University schools and is aimed at “forming competent and socially responsible science and engineering professionals who are committed to the promotion of the common good of society and the advancement of the scientific and engineering profession”.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Chairman of the NB/Felix Ohiwerei Educational Trust Fund, Hans Essaadi said – “We are truly honoured to be able to bestow this privilege on a man whose contributions to our company and indeed Nigeria’s corporate sector remains inestimable. We also thank the management of the prestigious Pan-Atlantic University for this honour and look forward to a befitting ceremony”.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Pan-Atlantic University, Prof. Juan Elegido said – “We are extremely grateful to the NB/Felix Ohiwerei Educational Trust Fund, as without their very generous grant, the start of our school of science and technology would have been delayed for several years. We approached several leading companies to ask for their support and only Nigerian Breweries had the vision to perceive the need for a revolution in engineering education in Nigeria. This is similar to what the Lagos Business School-‘another unit of our university–had done for business education”.

Founded in 2002, the Pan-Atlantic University is a private, non-profit educational institution in Lekki, Lagos State, recognised as one of the leading universities in Nigeria.
