Our interns are already learning and exploring. Just like Blessing, who has had a whirlwind second week at Royal Roots filled with experiential learning and invaluable insights. From editing to set design and production logistics, she’s gained hands-on experience across various aspects of the company. The week kicked off with intensive editing sessions where she learned to use PluralEyes for syncing clips effortlessly and mastered continuity sheets for seamless editing. The team introduced her to essential editing software like Adobe Photoshop for graphics, DaVinci Resolve for color grading, and Adobe Encoder for video management. Despite her initial unfamiliarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, the editors were incredibly supportive, teaching her basic editing techniques, color grading, and sound design.
Blessing also had the opportunity to collaborate with the production manager and set design team, ensuring smooth operations and welfare for the cast and crew while bringing the production set to life. This hands-on experience underscored the importance of logistics and creativity behind the scenes. Understanding the crucial role of these elements has deepened her appreciation for the intricate work that goes into media production.
The field and work-based experiential learning she has gained aligns perfectly with her course, making this internship incredibly rewarding. She eagerly looks forward to the rest of her internship, ready to continue learning and contributing to the world of media production.
