The Living Green Club successfully hosted Eco-Expo 2026, a vibrant Green Innovation Exhibition that brought together students, faculty, and guests to showcase creative solutions for a sustainable future. The event highlighted the power of youth-led innovation and reinforced the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
In the welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Enase Okonedo, expressed great pleasure in welcoming everyone to the exhibition and extended warm congratulations to the Living Green Club for organising the impactful event. “Sustainability is very close to my heart,” she noted. It is about how we responsibly use the resources entrusted to us for the benefit of future generations. Emphasising creativity as a key driver, the address highlighted that sustainability helps us prepare for and shape the future. She praised PAU’s focus on developing leaders who go beyond the ordinary to achieve greatness and urged everyone to become strong advocates who ignite the movement for sustainability.

Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Temitope Okunnu, Founder of FABE International Foundation, drew inspiration from the 2026 World Environmental Day theme: “For Nature, For Our Future.” She reminded the audience that the future must be consciously designed by entrepreneurs, policymakers, universities, and especially young people. “Innovation begins when we see opportunities where others see problems,” she said. Describing nature as a waiting station full of solutions, Mrs. Okunnu declared that sustainability is the greatest innovation opportunity of our time.

The event featured a Creative Sustainability Performance centred on environmental awareness and innovation. This was followed by a Documentary Showcase that highlighted the Eco-Expo journey and various green impact initiatives, including the screening of student innovation projects.
The program also included a group photography session and an engaging Exhibition Tour & Special Unveilings. Participants enjoyed a guided tour of the exhibition stands, the official unveiling of the Eco-Alchemy Upgrade, project demonstrations, and direct interactions with the student project teams.
Eco-Expo 2026 was a resounding success, inspiring attendees to take meaningful action toward a greener and more sustainable future. The exhibition not only celebrated creativity and innovation but also strengthened the collective resolve to protect the environment for generations to come.
