Background: Dr. Benjamin E. Anyaegbuna is a Mechanical Engineer, Senior Lecturer at Pan-Atlantic University, and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with extensive experience across academia and industry. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering (thermo-fluids) from the University of Ilorin, and additional qualifications in education (PGDE and M.Ed. in Science and Technology Education) from the University of Lagos. His professional experience spans engineering consultancy, construction, power plant systems, and project management, with notable involvement in high-profile projects for organisations such as the Central Bank of Nigeria and Total Nigeria. He also contributed to the engineering consultancy team for the Ark Legacy Project, a landmark 100,000-capacity auditorium.
Dr. Anyaegbuna combines industry expertise with academic practice, teaching courses in engineering project management, thermodynamics, technical communication, and CAD, while facilitating professional CAD training at the Autodesk Training Center. His research interests include indoor air quality, heat transfer, renewable energy, sustainable buildings and additive manufacturing. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), a COREN-registered engineer, and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (MCArb), actively contributing to professional development within the engineering community.
Research interest: Dr. Anyaegbuna’s research focuses on
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and thermal comfort in built environments, particularly mechanically ventilated and below-grade spaces
Sustainable building systems and environmental performance optimization
Additive manufacturing and digital design workflows
Engineering project management, including risk, cost, and performance analysis
Industry–academia collaboration and curriculum innovation in engineering education
Energy systems efficiency and thermal-fluid performance in industrial applications
His work integrates experimental methods, computational modeling (e.g., ANSYS Fluent), and data-driven approaches to address real-world engineering challenges.
