Interning at Airtel Nigeria has proven to be a transformative journey for our intern, Raluchukwu Chukwurah, who is part of the IT infrastructure team. His time at the data center has honed his skills in managing servers, routers, and switches, ensuring that no technical issue goes unresolved. This hands-on experience has deepened Ralu’s appreciation for the critical role these systems play in maintaining connectivity. By working closely with these technologies, he has expanded his technical expertise and gained a real-world understanding of the importance of IT operations within a large telecommunications network.
Ralu has also been engaging with a cloud-based application that monitors and manages devices across all Airtel outlets in Nigeria. Witnessing how this technology sustains and enhances the network has been particularly fascinating. The internship has significantly enriched his technical skills while providing invaluable insights into the telecommunications industry. Through this experience, he has learned essential lessons in process coordination, network administration, and teamwork, and he is anticipating what the remaining weeks of the internship will bring.
