Pan-Atlantic University has successfully concluded the interview stage for the second cohort of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to empowering talented young leaders from across Nigeria.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars program received an overwhelming response, with over 20,000 applications. From this impressive pool, 280 outstanding applicants were shortlisted for interviews. These shortlisted candidates represent brilliant youth from underserved communities, persons with disabilities, and displaced persons underscoring the Mastercard Foundation Scholars program’s dedication to inclusivity and equal opportunity.

A dedicated team of 51 panellists conducted interviews across 17 states in Nigeria. The panel members travelled extensively to reach candidates, ensuring accessibility and fairness in the selection process. Each interview included a Value-Based Test designed to assess alignment with the program’s core principles of leadership, ethical values, and community impact.

The interviews have now concluded, and the selection committee will announce 70 successful scholars in the coming weeks. These scholars will join the Mastercard Foundation Scholars program to pursue world-class education at Pan-Atlantic University while receiving comprehensive support through the Mastercard Foundation.
This initiative continues to transform lives by developing the next generation of ethical leaders equipped to drive sustainable change across Africa.
