Pan-Atlantic University is proud to host Deep Learning Indaba 2026, one of Africa’s foremost gatherings dedicated to artificial intelligence and machine learning. The conference takes place from 2–7 August 2026 at the University’s Main Campus, bringing together researchers, students, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the continent and beyond.
This year’s theme, “Sovereign Intelligence: Africa’s Path in a Frontier AI World,” underscores a clear continental ambition: building AI systems that are developed in Africa, for Africa. The Indaba emphasises strengthening machine-learning capacity, advancing cutting-edge research, and promoting local ownership of data, technology, and AI infrastructure. It calls on attendees to address African challenges with African-led solutions rather than imported frameworks that may not fit local realities.
