Pan-Atlantic University’s School of Management and Social Sciences (SMSS) successfully hosted its flagship Community Engagement Programme, an insightful two-day workshop titled “SMEs’ Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development” on 29th and 30th June 2026.
In collaboration with the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, the programme brought together entrepreneurs, artisans, and small business owners to strengthen their businesses and unlock new growth opportunities.
The workshop featured high-impact sessions covering critical areas such as:
- Leveraging Family Members in SMEs’
- Book-keeping and Budgeting
- Tax Advantage in SMEs
- Sources of Funding and Working Capital Management
- Ethics and Morality in Business
- Digital Marketing and Leveraging Social Media for SMEs
Professor Sola Oni, Dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences, actively facilitated one of the sessions, sharing strategic insights drawn from years of academic and industry experience. Other faculty members who led impactful sessions included Professor Segun Vincent, Dr. Japhet Imhanzenobe, and Dr. Ikpesu.
A major highlight was the presence of Hon. Abdulahi Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, who delivered an inspiring pep talk to the participants. Representatives from the Bank of Industry (BOI) also visited the campus to present valuable funding opportunities and support schemes available to SMEs.
The programme underscored Pan-Atlantic University’s strong commitment to bridging the gap between academia and the community by equipping local entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to thrive in today’s competitive business environment.
