Pan-Atlantic University recently held a two-day Safeguarding Training of Trainers Workshop facilitated by Peterrocks International, bringing together safeguarding officers and focal persons from across campus.

The workshop provided participants with a deeper understanding of the realities of safeguarding, ranging from identifying different types of harm to applying the principles that protect vulnerable individuals within our community. Sessions also explored the legal frameworks guiding safeguarding practice, ensuring staff are confident and compliant in their roles.

Through group discussions, practical exercises, and shared experiences, attendees worked collaboratively to reflect on their responsibilities and develop action plans for strengthening safeguarding systems on campus.

Participants left the training with renewed commitment—not just to the policies and protocols, but to the promise of creating a safe, supportive, and responsive environment for all.

At PAU, safeguarding is more than a task.
It is an ongoing promise of protection, dignity, and care.
