Business Development Officer (Careers)
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with employers, identifying job and internship opportunities for students and alumni, and enhancing the overall career services offered by the university.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and maintain relationships with local, national, and international employers to create job and internship opportunities for students and alumni.
Identify and secure partnerships with organisations that can provide career development resources, workshops, and events for students.
Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with partner companies.
Conduct site visits to assess the suitability and relevance of internship placement organisations for students, while also strengthening existing partnerships and establishing new ones (Company Visits).
Maintain detailed records of client interactions and progress.
Conduct research on prospective placement organisations to determine their suitability for PAU students.
Conduct research to identify industry trends and employment opportunities that align with the university’s academic programs and student interests.
Collaborate with educational institutions, employers, and community organizations to provide up-to-date information and opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies for company engagement.
Coordinate company/industry visits, University visits/guest speaker sessions, and other partnership opportunities.
Collect and analyse data on employer satisfaction and job market trends to align the University’s offerings with industry needs.
Company visits during the internship program.
Plan and organise employer events (HRW, pre & post-internship engagement and career fairs).
Work closely with career advisors to understand student needs and ensure the availability of relevant job and internship opportunities.
Provide regular reports on business development activities, employer engagement, and student employment outcomes.
Collaborate with academic departments, alumni office, and other University stakeholders to promote career services and resources.
Attend conferences hosted by target organisations
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, employer relations, or career services.
Experience working in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
