Olalekan Aworinde
Dr Aworinde is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, School of Management and Social Sciences, Pan-Atlantic University. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bath, an MSc in Business and Applied Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, a BSc in Economics from Ogun State University, a National Diploma in Financial Studies from Federal Polytechnic, Offa. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Education from the University of Ibadan. He currently sits on the board of the Global Initiative Centre for Scientific Research and Development, Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr Aworinde consults for the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) and is also a project consultant, to the Economic and Research Council (ESRC) UK, on Poverty Alleviation – Addressing the Fragility of the Core Rural Areas in Nigeria.
Prior to joining PAU in October 2018, he was with Tai Solarin University of Education for 13 years and served in various capacities as the Head of the Department of Economics and also as Deputy Director at Tai Solarin Human Resource Development Centre. Currently, Dr Aworinde teaches Public Sector Economics, History of Economic Thoughts and Labour Economics. His research interests are in macroeconomics, applied econometrics and public sector economics. In addition, he is also interested in the economics of Africa.
