B.Sc. in Business Administration

The philosophy of the Business Administration programme is to strengthen the intellectual capacity of students in business disciplines, equipping them with the knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to the success of business organisations across various sectors of the economy, or to start their businesses. Students will become knowledgeable and competent in general management. An emphasis will be given to the acquisition of a capacity for ethical and competent business decisions.

Objectives

The objectives of the Business Administration programme are to:

  • Provide a solid foundation of knowledge and skills needed to recognise and analyse management problems and evolve strategies for their solution;
  • Students will learn to apply theoretical frameworks to the practice of management.
  • Develop in students an ability to recognize and implement good management policies,
  • To understand and influence human behaviour, and to grasp the relationship between human behaviour and the socio-cultural environment.
  • Equip students with good decision making skills that take into account management best practices and sound ethical principles.
  • Ensure that students achieve a functional level of computer literacy.
  • Help students develop appropriate leadership, interpersonal organizational and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Develop graduates who are able and motivated to keep learning and updating themselves, with good critical reasoning skills.

Admission and Matriculation Requirements
Candidates for the Bachelor of Science degree shall be accepted for a four-year programme through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and for a three-year programme through direct entry. Admission into the four-year programme shall be based on the candidate’s performance at both the UTME and the post-UTME screening of the Pan-Atlantic University. In addition, the candidate should have a General Certificate of Education
(GCE) Ordinary Level pass, or its equivalent, with at least five credits that must include: English Language, Mathematics.

Candidates with post-secondary school certificates such as Advanced Level GCE (two A’Level credits), OND, NCE, and IB (International Baccalaureate), as well as some experience in business organisations, shall be considered for the three-year Bachelor of Science programme through direct entry. They must submit to JAMB a Direct Entry form together with evidence of their credentials at the same time as they submit their application to PAU online.

UTME Entry Requirements

  • Current PAU-Approved cut-off mark
  • O’ Level result (five credits Mathematics, English and Economics inclusive and any two of  History, English Literature, Government, Civic Education, CRS/IRS, Commerce, Accounting, Business Studies and Marketing).
  • Apply through apply.pau.edu.ng
  • The required UTME subjects are English language, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Accounting/Commerce or any other Arts or Social Science subject.

Direct Entry Requirements

To be eligible, an applicant is required to have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Two advanced-level credits in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.
  2. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects.
  3. NCE with merit in a relevant discipline
  4. An OND/HND credit level in a relevant discipline.

Inter-university Transfer Requirements 

Important Notice:

Pan-Atlantic University is open to offering admission to students who wish to transfer from another institution of higher learning. However, applicants should be aware that only a few transfer applicants are offered admission each year, and only if they can show clearly that, because of their past performance, demonstrated values, and experiences, they are likely to make a significant contribution to Pan-Atlantic University.

Accordingly, we seriously advise transfer applicants to apply also to other universities, as there is a significant risk that they may be denied admission in Pan-Atlantic University.

  1. A transfer student must be a current student of the university from which he/she seek to transfer and should have a clean disciplinary record.
  2. A transfer student from a Nigerian University is required to possess a JAMB score that is not less than the minimum score of PAU students admitted into his/her intended department in his/her admission year or the minimum JAMB score as approved in the year of admission into the university.
  3. A transfer student should possess the minimum Pan-Atlantic and interdepartmental entry requirements and should have obtained these before entry into the university from where transfer is being sought.
  4. A transfer student should have made a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.50 on a 5.00 point scale to qualify to be considered for admission into 200 level. Students with a CGPA not lower than 1.50 may be considered for admission into the 100 level.
  5. The application should be accompanied by the student’s transcript, which will be verified.
  6. If at any stage irregularity is discovered in the papers presented by the students, such students shall be withdrawn from the University.
  7. A student can only transfer into the same course of study – or a similar course where applicable – that he/she was engaged in previously in his/her original university.
  8. The number of students offered admission by transfer shall not exceed 10% of the number of students in the class they are to join.
  9. The application procedure for inter-university transfer will remain open until the close of the admission process.

Students can visit the library to gain access to recommended books and other study materials.
