Pan-Atlantic University celebrates its 22nd Convocation Ceremony

The university has successfully concluded its 22nd Convocation Ceremony which held on 5–6 December 2025 at the Honeywell Auditorium, Lagos Business School, Ajah. The two-day event marked a major milestone for the institution as it conferred degrees on a total of 502 graduates (266 undergraduates and 236 graduate students) across all schools.

Day One: 266 Undergraduates Honoured, 47 Earn First Class

The ceremony opened with a colourful academic procession featuring graduands, faculty, and principal officers. In her address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Enase Okonedo congratulated the graduating class and announced that 47 undergraduates earned First Class honours. She emphasised PAU’s enduring mission of educating the whole person through values-driven, purpose-oriented learning.

Delivering the Pro-Chancellor’s address on behalf of Mr. Henry Odein Ajumogobia, SAN, Mr. Ikechukwu Onomah, SAN, described the graduating class as a reflection of perseverance, discipline, and excellence, noting PAU’s steady growth and commitment to quality. Representing the National Universities Commission (NUC), Dr. Chinelo Nwosu, Director of Accreditation, commended PAU for maintaining high academic standards and globally competitive curricula.

A highlight of the day was the valedictory speech by Dumebi Duru, who graduated with a perfect 5.0 CGPA. She reflected on her journey of hard work and determination, describing her achievements as the fulfilment of long-held goals. The event concluded with the induction of the new graduates into the PAU Alumni Association and the presentation of prizes to outstanding students.

Day Two: 236 Postgraduate Students Receive Advanced Degrees

The second day of the convocation opened with a prayer by Rev. Fr. Elochukwu Asogwa, followed by a solemn moment of silence in honour of PAU’s departed pioneers. In her welcome remarks, Professor Okonedo applauded the postgraduate graduates for completing rigorous programmes while balancing careers, entrepreneurship, and family life. She reminded them that a PAU education signifies excellence, integrity, and lifelong learning.

The Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Ajumogobia, SAN, highlighted the University’s continued investments in modernising education ranging from laboratory upgrades and entrepreneurship centres to experiential learning and industry-aligned curricula. He urged graduates to embrace emerging technologies and to lead as creators and innovators. The Chancellor, Rev. Dr. Anthony Udoh, then formally authorised the conferment of master’s degrees and other advanced qualifications.

The ceremony also featured a special performance by the PAU Choir, remarks from class presidents, and the recitation of the Alumni Pledge. The 236 postgraduate students were officially inducted into the Pan-Atlantic University Alumni Association, joining a global network of ethical leaders.
