Pan-Atlantic University Celebrates the Feast of St. Josemaría Escrivá with an Inspiring Holy Mass

Pan-Atlantic University marked the feast day of St. Josemaría Escrivá on 11th June 2026, with a solemn Holy Mass. The event brought together students, staff, and members of the university community to honour the life and teachings of the saint known for his message of finding God in daily work and ordinary life.

The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Elochukwu Asogwa, who delivered a powerful homily centred on the core of St. Josemaría Escrivá’s spirituality. Fr. Asogwa reminded the congregation that St. Josemaría taught people to discover the presence of Christ in whatever task or profession they find themselves. He highlighted key aspects of the saint’s message: “It is a must, necessary that I be a teacher, guide of saints.”

The priest emphasised that holiness is accessible to all. He urged everyone to place God at the centre of all their activities, strive for perfection in their daily duties, and become instruments that help others grow in holiness. He warned against living a “double life,” encouraging integrity and authenticity in faith and work.

Professor Enase Okonedo, Vice-Chancellor, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the entire university community to all who contributed to the success of the Mass. She reiterated the university’s commitment to the values espoused by St. Josemaría: excellence, service, and the sanctification of ordinary work.

Quoting St. Josemaría’s teachings, Professor Enase Okonedo stressed that work should be carried out with integrity and excellence, always oriented toward God and service to others. “The true way to honour St. Josemaría Escrivá,” she noted, “is to serve others well and to do your work diligently.”

The celebration served as a timely reminder of the relevance of St. Josemaría Escrivá’s message in today’s world, especially within an academic community dedicated to forming competent professionals and ethical leaders.
