Background: Dr. Stephen Ayodeji Adubi is a Senior Lecturer at Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria. With over a decade of university-level teaching and research experience, Dr. Adubi specialises in database systems, artificial intelligence, evolutionary computation, computational intelligence, heuristics, algorithms, and reinforcement learning. His expertise includes the design and implementation of hyper-heuristic/computational intelligence frameworks for solving computational problems, such as university timetabling, and, by extension, for addressing real-world scheduling challenges.

Previously, he served as Lecturer/Researcher at Covenant University (2015–2025), where he taught programming courses, coordinated programming contests, examination processes, and numerous student research projects. Dr. Adubi has utilised his expertise to contribute to an AI-Based Educational Timetabling and Scheduling Initiative (2025–2026), developing an AI-driven two-stage hyper-heuristic system (a unified solution) for handling various forms of scheduling challenges across different institutions. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in international conferences and journals and maintains active collaborations in computational intelligence and machine learning.

His profile reflects a strong commitment to both academic excellence and the practical application of intelligent systems to solve real-world problems.

Research interest: Evolutionary Computation, Computational Intelligence, Heuristics and Hyper-Heuristics, and Reinforcement Learning.
